Happy Halloween Everyone!!!

Tuesday, October 30, 2007

It's been a lot of sleepless nights and fussy days around here..not to mention high fevers, a runny nose, and a terrible cough and lots of clothing changes to both Jayden and mommy! But there's also been a lot of cuddling and snuggling...and its all because of a little friend called RSV. So for now it is 3 treatments a day and I have to admit he takes it like a little man!Yeah, so it pretty much stinks that he is sick and so close to Halloween but we are trying very hard to rest up so we can make an appearance in his Halloween costume.

Y is for Yummy....

Today I was making cookies and while I was frosting them my little assistant decided that he wanted to help. He grabbed the spoon covered in Chocolate Icing and decided it was better to eat it then to frost cookies! What a chef!!

The Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkin Patch

This morning we went to the pumpkin patch at Long&Scott Farms. Missy,Jonathon and Payton came too. It was so much fun, the babies were a little tired though, but they toughed it out through all the photo shoots. ;) I think that the only reason we took him to the pumpkin patch was so that I could get some pictures of him. I was so happy that we were able to go today and start making those fun family memories. We brought home 2 big pumpkins that we will carve later. I loved going to the farm today and spending time with our family.

A trial run..

Ok so I was going to keep his costume underwraps till Halloween but I just had to share this picture of him. I was trying on his costume to see if fit ok and well I am just not sure if he likes it that much....I just hope I can keep him happy Halloween night!!

The best babysitter...

My little man is pretty active and loves to be moving and wiggling around. He especially loves his jumper, he is starting to really jump now instead of just spinning himself around in circles. His big brother Jakers loves to sit and watch him jump around. Jake is great because if Jayden starts to fuss or cry the big brother steps in to sniff out the problem! I am so happy to see that Jake and Jayden are already interacting with each other and that Jake likes his little brother.

A Cowboy life for me!

Friday evening we went to see Natalie in her horseshow, it was a lot of fun. Jayden loved looking around at all the horses. Everyone got in on the action Brianna got to ride in the show with Natalie and even Jayden got to ride Spot-me! The kids did great,, I think they were the best in the show! I can't believe that he is 3 months and already a cowboy!! He even has the boots to prove it!

Cleaning is good for something..

Tonight for FHE the missionaries and my parents are coming over so I thought that I would make home made cupcakes(you know the kind with real icing, not from the jar). I have no idea what sparked this because today Jayden was such a fuss-bucket! I set him up on the counter in his bumbo seat to try and pacify him until I finished and the next thing I knew the kid was passed out in his seat, snoring away...I tried everything today to get him to take a nap, I guess watching mommy clean up did the trick :) I guess cleaning is good for something!!!

The Mom who knew...

Today was general conference and there were many different things that I enjoyed listening to but one talk really stuck with me. Sister Beck was talking about the important roles that we as LDS moms have and while I was listening a sense of gratitude filled my heart. I was sitting there on the couch rocking my little boy to sleep and thinking about how much my Heavenly Father loves me and how important the role of motherhood is. I am so grateful for the opportunity that he has given me to be a mom to Jayden. In Sister Beck's talk she mentioned many things that we as mothers can do to teach our children the correct principles. It was probably at the close of her talk that I truly felt the awesome responsibility of being a mother, I realized then that I want to be the mother that knew; the mother that knows that the things she teaches not only are important for her family now but will last a lifetime and hopefully even an eternity...

I can't wait to experience all of his first's with him...Speaking of firsts I have got to get his costume...I think that we are going to make a monkey, who knows maybe I can get Geoffrey to be the zoo keeper, I guess you will just have to wait and see..
