trick or treat/pumpkin carving

trick or treat grandma!!

the trick or treaters!!

He had to trick or treat at our house this year because he was only allowed to go to a couple of houses because he was so sick! My boys were really sick both had pneumonia and ear infections and were pretty miserable. But they toughed it out and ate some candy and had fun passing out candy to the kids that came to our house. Hopefully we will have better luck next year!

We carved our pumpkin tonight, since we couldn't go treating. The boys thought that it was disgusting and were so grossed out that the insides were so slimey.

Geoffrey worked hard trying to make the pumpkin as perfect as possible...

Our finished product... How cool right? It's the best horse I've ever seen!!!

Our family headed to the Trunk or treat for our ward, and we all had a blast. The kids played games, ate lots of treats, and got plenty of candy.

Today is Britton's Birthday party and I told Missy that I would watch the kids so she can get everything ready for the big party. I was making cookies for the party already and I had a couple extra that I needed to use up so I decided to make a mess and let the older kids decorate them. They were so serious about what they were doing they put the M&M's and sprinkles precisely where they wanted. And while they were decorating away the smaller two were tearing into all the Halloween candy I had in the pantry. Britton and Alex had so much fun making a mess in the pantry they were laughing and talking up a storm. Those little monkeys were on a messy mission.

Britton's 1!

The Great Debate..

This is his brave face

A look at his boo boo

His great reward.. a yellow lollipop

To Stitch or Not to Stitch... After an hour of trying to clean, and look at the injury we finally decided to take him to urgent care. Geoffrey was sure that it was split wide open and needed to be stitched, and I on the other hand thought it was fine and just needed some liquid bandaid but just to settle the debate I took him. This was at 11 o'clock at night and half way there he feel asleep so glancing back I decided to go home and let him sleep on it, but on the way home why not stop and let Uncle Jonathon take a look just so I had someone else on my side. Well after really getting a good look at it with him we decided that it was a little worse than I thought so back we went to the urgent care. We finally made it there around 11:30 and Jayden was a trooper. He was tired and a little scared but tried to be so brave so he could get a lollipop. So after the Doctor debated for a couple of minutes she decided just to throw a little dermabond on it and be done. It was only tough for couple minutes he had be still. What a tough little guy!

The pumpkin express

We headed aboard a train and its off to the Pumpkin Patch. We took a 25 minute ride to a pumpkin patch where there was a petting zoo, face painting, balloon artists, and lots of pumpkins. The kids loved it, holding their heads outside the window of the train they thought was soo cool. We will definately do this again but this time I think that I will wait until the weather is a little cooler, it is not that fun sweating while picking out your pumpkin.

His first train ride and he is soo excited
